D8 is short for Delta-8, Delta-8 THC, Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol. It can cause effects similar to Delta-9 THC—but is generally less potent.

Delta-8 and Delta-9 are both forms of THC. The similarities between the two cannabinoids lie in their chemical structure, where a particular double bond is located on the chain of carbon atoms. Delta 8 has a double bond on the eighth carbon atom in its molecular structure; Delta 9 has a double bond on the ninth carbon atom. It can be extracted from either hemp or cannabis. The cannabis plant contains over 400 active ingredients, including cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, each with a unique therapeutic potential. Generally, the cannabis market is defined by the marijuana plant’s two primary cannabinoids: cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

THC interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system and cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2), producing various effects such as pain relief, inflammatory relief, stress relief, and sedation. Research has also shown that interactions between the entire spectrum of the plant’s compounds, including all of its cannabinoids and terpenes, work better together in a process known as the entourage effect. Delta-8 THC os one of over 100 cannabinoids produced in the Cannabis sativa L. plant but is not found in significant amounts. Concentrated amounts of Delta-8 THC are typically manufactured from hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) and have psychoactive and intoxicating effects.

Delta 8 THC is a potent relaxant that can relieve stress, it can also improve your focus and sleep patterns, ease pain, reduce anxiety, boost appetite, and relieve nausea and vomiting. Personally I use D8 in the evening to relax and give me a good nights sleep. I use it with CBD and CBN and I love the effects. Taking a THC product with cannabinoids reduces the THC hangovers, which can occur; THC is dehydrating…just ensure you are well hydrated. I recommend that you start with a small dose, wait for an hour and see how you react. Everybody metabolises differently so what’s good for someone else is not going to determine your dosage.
